Significant places include Campbell-Whittlesey House, East Avenue Historic District, Mt. Hope-Highland Historic District and Pines of Perinton Apartments and Azalea-Highland Park Terrace Historic District.

The famous person George Ellwanger is associated with one of more of the Monroe County historic places.
