Butler County Ohio (Historic Districts) has 15 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 6 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Historic Civic Center, Harding-Jones Paper Company District, Miami-Erie Canal Site Historic District and Rossville Historic District.

Several famous people are associated with these Butler County historic places including Paul J. Sorg and A.E. Harding.

Some of the country's most noteable architects helped create the Butler County places including Frederick G. Mueller, Aaron Austin, Gideon Beaver and William Elliott. Prominent architectural styles found in Butler Country are Italianate, Late Victorian and Greek Revival.
