Fairfax County Virginia has 50 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 7 places of National significance and 20 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include George Washington Memorial Parkway, Green Spring, Gunston Hall, Manassas Battlefield Historic District (Boundary Increase) and Manassas National Battlefield Park.

Many famous people are associated with these Fairfax County historic places including George Mason, George Washington, Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, et al. Barton Clara, Robert Edward Lee and Dr. C.A. Max Wiehle.
