Lauderdale County Mississippi has 50 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 5 places of National significance and 10 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Grand Opera House, Highland Park, Highland Park Dentzel Carousel and Shelter Building, Scottish Rite Cathedral and Terminal Building, Old, Hangar and Powerhouse at Key Field.

Many famous people are associated with these Lauderdale County historic places including Frederick Key, Algene Key, Fr. Louis Vally, E. Cahn and E.H. Dial.
