Prairie County Arkansas has 16 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 4 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Barrett--Rogers Building, Bethel House, First Presbyterian Church and White River Bridge at DeValls Bluff and American Legion Hut--Des Arc.

The famous person Beford Brown Bethell is associated with one of more of the Prairie County historic places.

Some of the country's most noteable architects helped create the Prairie County places including Missouri Valley Bridge & Iron Co., Charles L. Thompson, Howard & Ash Harrington, J.D. Keedy, R.P. Morrison, WPA, Charlie Johnson, Public works Administration and Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Co..
